Compassionate, confidential care for unplanned pregnancy

When a woman experiencing an unplanned pregnancy comes through the doors of Alpha Women's Resource Center, she is shown the love and hope of Christ. From trained client advocates to medical staff, she is provided with factual information regarding her options in a confidential environment.

What a woman can expect

Alpha offers confidential appointments for pregnancy options counseling with a client advocate, free pregnancy testing, and free limited ultrasounds. If a woman chooses life, our staff connects her with community physicians and with resources for continuing support.

Options counseling

Women come to Alpha to confirm pregnancy and learn about their options. Many do not fully understand abortion, the types of abortion methods in different stages of pregnancy, or the side effects of abortion procedures. Client advocates assist women through their appointments, from pregnancy testing to ultrasounds, with answers about abortion, adoption, and parenting. Our advocates offer factual information, but most of all hope.

Pregnancy testing

When a woman is experiencing pregnancy symptoms, Alpha provides a way to confirm pregnancy at no cost. She talks with a medical professional who performs the test and can answer other questions about pregnancy.

Ultrasound

After a free pregnancy test confirms pregnancy, Alpha can provide a limited ultrasound. It gives the mother information about gestational age and viability, a starting place to discuss options. Statistics show that 80% of women facing an unplanned pregnancy who see their child on ultrasound choose life. What a way for a baby to audition for a new mother.

Free and confidential STI testing, treatment, and education

Our center provides free, confidential STI (sexually transmitted infection) services, focusing on early detection to protect maternal and fetal health. Common tests include urine tests for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis, and blood tests for syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis. Services are offered to both women and their partners to prevent reinfection. We offer on-site treatment for specific infections and refer others to local health departments for follow-up. We also provide education on preventing STIs before, during, and after pregnancy.

Get involved in medical services

The center is always in need of volunteers such as client advocates and medical professionals (nurses, sonographers) who spend time talking with women about their pregnancy options, conducting pregnancy tests or ultrasounds, providing hope, and showing the love of Christ. If you do not have a few hours per week to volunteer, consider a donation to cover pregnancy tests, ultrasound supplies, or medical supplies. It may seem simple, but it makes a world of difference to a woman in need.
